Early life:
Genelia studied at Apostolic Caramel High School in Bandra and later at St Andrews College (Bandra) to pursue a Bachelor of Management Studies. She was also state level athlete and National level player in Football.
Career:

Geneliamade her debut in Bollywood in 2003. first Hindi film Tujhe Meri Kasam opposite Ritesh Deshmukh. She left bollywood for a moment to focus on South Indian films.She first hit the limelight with a Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan and did a fair and lovely Cricket World Cup 2003 ad with Krishnamachari Srikkanth.She was also a part of Mani Ratnam show, Netru, Indru, Naalai. Boys in 2003, which is a huge success

She debuted Telugu with Satyam and went to several movies that have their profile in South India to act. She appeared in several Telugu films like happy, Samba and Sye. She folowedup cast with Venkatesh in Subhash Chandra Bose, it was disappointed at the box office.

Her second Hindi movie was Masti and was also opposite Ritesh. This film was a moderate success.She then played role as Haasini in the Telugu film Bommarillu, which also starred Siddharth Narayanin lead. This film is one of the biggest successes of her career and earned applause and acclaim.She was best actress for her portrayal of FilmfareAward, among other awards.

The character of Haasini received rave reviews and so the favourite choice for this role in the remake of Bommarillu in other languages. It was a remake in Tamil Vincent Subramaniamin Genelia, the heroine again votes. The film has also found quite successful as his predecessor to pay. Her first film in Kannada Satya In Love, plus four crores in one week with a new record in the Kannada film industry.
